Cherokee Sweep Weekend Home Games

1216/11 Metro 2 Toledo 3

Toledo's Ryan Kelly (Kepals, Skrzynski) scored the only goal of the first period at the 15:03 mark and the Cherokee carried a one goal lead into the second period. The Metro Jets answered by scoring the only two goals of the second period and they carried the 2-1 lead into the third period. Ryan Kelly (2) (Fletcher, Baker) tied the game at the 10:38 mark of the third period and Austin Fletcher (Kepals<2> , Baker<2>) netted the gamewinner at the 13:09 mark. Austyn Rodebush made 25 saves in the game.

12/17/11 Michigan 1 Toledo 2

The Mountain Cats scored their lone goal in the opening period and held that 1-0 lead into the second period. Toledo's Joe Skrzynski (Kelly, Steele) tied the game at one on the second periods only goal at the 14:58 mark. Tied after two periods, the Cherokee scored the eventual game winner when Ben Henry (Young, Neill) found the back of the net at the 14:46 mark of the final period. Lukas Gavalier stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced.

12/18/11 Michigan 3 Toledo 5

After a scoreless first period Toledo's James Steele (Ruiz, Skrzynski) opened a seven goal second period at the 8:01 mark of the period. Gary Neill (Thelen, Henry) added Toledo's second goal at the 9:20 mark and Christos Papioannou (Smiatacz) added the third goal just 15 seconds later. Michigan scored their first goal at the 11:57 mark but Toledo's Andrew Benyo (Skrzynski<2>, Steele) regained the three goal lead at the 14:35 mark. Michigan finished the second priod scoring with their second and third goals of the game. Toledo added an insurance goal at the 12:59 mark on Mike Baker's (Nagle, Kelly ) goal. Lukas Gavalier made 22 saves in the game.
