NEWSDate: Feb 06, 2012 Cherokee Sweep Weekend In Battle Creek
2/4/12 Toledo 4 Battle Creek 1 Battle Creek scored their lone goal just :33 into the game. Toledo took control of the game after that scoring twice in the first, once in the second, and once in the third periods. Ben Henry (Kelly, Kepals) scored the firs Cherokee goal at the 11:20 mark of the first period and Joe Skrzynski (Papaioannou, Britton) added the second goal at the 8:27 mark. Ryan Quigley (Baker) Added a Powerplay goal at the 10:42 mark of the second period and Mike Baker (Skrzynski) added an emptynet goal in the third period to seal the win.
2/5/12 Toledo 3 Battle Creek 1 Patick Smiatacz (Fletcher, Henry) opened the scoring with 1:16 left in the first period. Trvor Ruiz (Benyo, Young) added the second Cherokee goal just 1:04 into the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Battle Creek cut into that lead with 1:30 left in the third period but Toledo would hold them off the scoreboard for the rest of the game. Parker Hack (Smiatacz) added a powerplay goal at the 13:37 mark of the third period. Lukas Gavalier made 40 saves in his 10th win of the season. Click here to go back to news articles |
